Overview

I started my career back in 2013 as a Web Designer at a national law firm. I began by designing and building websites, but before long I became the go-to person for anything digital. If it involved a screen, it landed on my desk. I worked on websites, internal systems, marketing campaigns, emails, and digital advertising. It gave me a solid grounding in handling busy workloads and taking full ownership of projects from start to finish.

In 2015, I decided I wanted a new challenge and moved into the SaaS world. I joined a company that built software for recruitment agencies, helping to shape their platform and improve how people used it. This was where I first started leaning more into product design, thinking not just about how things looked but how they worked. After that, I took on a few more roles across different industries, each one adding something new to my skill set. I worked on branding, UI design, interaction design, and started getting more involved with user research too.

In 2019, I joined Thomas Cook Airlines. That was a big shift for me because it was my first proper UX role. I worked closely with developers, researchers, and other designers on customer-facing booking journeys and internal systems.

Sadly, that all came to an end when the company went into administration later that year. Luckily, I then joined Booking.com, which is where I really got to throw myself into UX properly. I worked on large-scale booking systems, learned from brilliant people around me, and built a much deeper understanding of how UX and UI work together in complex products.

Since then, I’ve kept pushing myself to take on roles that challenge me and help me grow. I’ve got a real passion for creating thoughtful, useful designs that solve real problems for real people. I’m especially interested in the crossover between good UX and strong visual design, and I’m always up for learning something new.

Brands I’ve worked with

Here are some of the brands I’ve worked with along the way. Big names, smaller names, all sorts, each one’s been a chance to tackle new challenges and create work I’m proud of.

Where to find me

I used to live in Liverpool and commuted to Manchester every day for work. When COVID hit, like a lot of people, I started working from home full-time. Since then, I’ve moved to Colwyn Bay in North Wales, where I’m still working remotely. It’s been a nice change of pace, swapping busy city commutes for beach walks, sea views and ice cream on tap.
